Signs of Vitamin Deficiency and Hair Shedding:
These vitamin deficiencies most commonly impact hair loss.
Iron Deficiency: Anemia, characterized by fatigue and weakness, can contribute to hair shedding. In my case I also experienced uncommon symptoms such as unexplained dizziness and even a swollen tongue! I know, that really threw me for a loop.
Vitamin D Deficiency: Thinning hair may be linked to inadequate vitamin D levels. This is especially common in the winter months when we spend more time inside and don't get the proper levels of Vitamin D from sunlight (which is the best source).
Vitamin B Deficiency: Lack of biotin and other B vitamins can result in hair loss. This vitamin deficiency is less common and is usually seen in people who have gastrointestinal tract issues from surgery or a medical issue. It's also more prevalent if you're malnourished.
