It is finally 2024. Can you believe it? Do you have hair goals?
As we approach the beginning of a new year, we often find ourselves reflecting on the previous year and wondering if we made improvements in our lives. But, with the beginning of a new year, comes a fresh start and new goals. We all have hair goals, but when it comes to achieving them, it can be a bit overwhelming and nearly 80% of goals started at the new year fail by February. Part of the reason so many goals fail is that they are not specific enough and are not goals that you truly love.
The good news is that you don’t have to be in that 80%. To help you, I want to share 4 simple tips to achieve hair goals that you love. With these tips you can walk confidently towards your hair goals this year like this:
It is very important to develop a consistent healthy hair care routine. One of the best ways to implement a consistent hair care routine is to create a schedule. As you create your schedule, you should consider some of the following questions:
How often will I shampoo and wash my hair?
Will I deep condition my hair regularly?
Will I do protein treatments?
However, once you've answered these and other questions, you should add your action items to your calendar that correspond to your answers to the above questions. After you've put these action items in your calendar, you need to practice them for at least 66 days so that they can become a habit. The main point here is that you need to have a regular routine. Remember, consistency is key!
I hate to break it to you, but there are no quick fixes in a healthy hair care journey.
So, it is important to be realistic about how much time it will take to repair, grow, and truly reach your hair goals. Research suggests that our hair grows according to a 4-stage cycle. During this cycle, your hair will typically grow 1/2 an inch per month. This means that if your hair is at your ears today, then you should not expect it to grow to the middle of your back by next week. In all seriousness, it takes time to see a noticeable difference in hair growth. So, practice patience because it is an important key for reaching your hair goals.
No matter what your hair goals are it is important to also practice healthy exercise and nutrition activities. The proper alignment between a healthy hair care routine, exercise, and nutritious foods will help increase your chances of achieving your hair goals. Besides, when you exercise and eat healthily, you feel overall like a better person. But, in thinking about practicing the proper diet and exercise, consider doing one or more of the following:
Increase your daily consumption of fruits and vegetables
Drink at least 8 glasses of freshwater each day or half your body weight
Increase consumption of whole foods or unprocessed foods
Exercise at least 2x/week for 30 minutes or more
Surprisingly, the above recommendations actually can help improve your hair health and impact how much it grows.
Every day, your hair is subject to factors that could damage your hair like heat, styling, and environmental pollution, to name a few. When our hair becomes damaged, we use more and more products to try and make it healthy and shiny. Unfortunately, this often backfires, because we can just keep putting more chemicals on our hair, causing even more damage. Instead of trying different products and not getting good results, it is best to stick with a few products that you know are going to work. Products that promote growth, moisturize hair and stimulate the scalp. Our favorite is the Voice of Hair PureFix Elixir.
Are you ready to achieve your healthy hair goals this year? I cannot wait to hear about how you've reached your hair goals. I am confident that you can and will reach your hair care goals this year. So, today, start doing the 4 things discussed above.
